There used to be a restaurant on in West Los Angeles (Mar Vista) called
Brunos. It had a menu item that I have never seen anywhere else, called
"Mushrooms Primavera" (or, in Italian, Funghi alla Primavera).
I would love to be able to duplicate this, but I have no idea how to
make it. All I can do is describe it:
It consisted of whole (smallish) white mushrooms, coated and deep fried,
served with a pesto sauce. I'm fairly sure the coating included bread
crumbs and a little parmesan cheese.
When you put one in your mouth and bit down, it squirted hot mushroom
juice into your mouth. Delicious!
