Before you go doing that, try this program to play them on your palm.

    TCPMP - http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/about

Now i'd just like to mention a couple of things.

    Firstly that program is free.
Secondly it supports avi files so all you'd need to do is copy across you video and play! No conversion required. But judging by the front page, it doesnt support WMV or MPG.

So give this a go and see if you like it.

    Video converters?

yea TCPMP is good and it plays files well, but the problem is the media ihave is big in filesize, i have anime, and they are at least 150mb+ per file so if i can compress the video i can save at least 30mb per file...or so...

    Video converters?

Just use google to get to PocketDivxEncoder and get a free package that does an excellent job of conversion. It's free! They have an upgrade to an improved commercial package "Lathe", but as far as I can tell, the free set works fine.

Saw it after I posted ppccool is the site for PocketDivxEncoder (oops!)

    Video converters?

yeah thanks again, pocketdivxencoder is great as well as TCPMP...

i just have one problem with TCPMP..the volume is very low even though i put the volume to the highest (100) in the settings and the Palm's volume is set to high...i can play mp3's on ptunes with good volume just not on TCPMP...any idea's on how to fix?

one more thing is there a way to like play a video over a network on the palm tx? for example i have a few files on my desktop is it possible to play those files on the palm (sorta streaming them) over the wifi network ?

    Video converters?

PocketDivxEncoder has option to increase sound up to 360% while converting (under Output options).

    Video converters?

Go into the preferences within TCPMP and change the Preamp as well as volume. on my T|X i can get the volume pretty loud this way.

Darkmanx4lf i agree with what JBlank said, try the PreAmp and 2ndly, i think the best thing you're going to get in terms of streaming/downloading from your computer is WiFile.
