    And the Oscar goes to...

I'm about due to start a thread of this.

    My predictions:
    Ratatouille- Will win
Beowulf- Nomination, unless seen as too "mature" for the category
Simspons- Nomination, if not Surf's Up (Audiences liked it more than Surf)
Surf's Up- Nomination if not Simpsons (Critics liked it more than Simpsons)
Meet the Robinsons- Nomination if not Beowulf
    Enchanted- ?
Bee Movie- Academy doesn't like Dreamworks anymore
Shrek the Third- Might because of first two (while doubtful, see above)
TMNT- While I would like it to get a nod, it probably won't
ATHF- Jerry Beck hated it and even joked about it geting an Oscar, and Jerry is always right
Happily N'Ever After- CG movies just don't seem to make the cut like they used to (in short Jimmy Neutron wouldn't be nominated today)

    Your Predictions?

If Ratatouille were to lose out ATHF or Shrek the Third, I think I'd gag.

Beowulf could be a contender, but I really have to see it before I can rank it in any way. I'm sure that from a technical perspective its quite an accomplishment.

Ratatouille deserves to win, It's the best film I've seen this year. Brad Bird deserves a best director nomination, but it will never happen.

I'd like to see Paprika get a nomination, but I'm got going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

Paprika was eligible for last year's Oscar.

    And the Oscar goes to...

My Predictions (so far) for nominations:

    -Ratatoullie
    -Shrek the Third
    -Meet the Robinsons

Of course, my money is always on Pixar. True, Cars wasn't Pixar's best last year, but this year I'm fully convinced Ratatoullie will take home the Oscar. I thought last year the films were judged on their technical achivements seeing as how Cars had new HDRI, Monster House had motion controlled cameras, and Happy Feet had motion capture animation. Of course, I was wrong about this once Happy Feet won for obvious reasons which still makes me gag.

    My predictions:

Ratatouille - will win, though not my personal pick
Meet the Robinsons - should win, but won't
Surf's Up - Loved it, and deserves a nomination

I hope the 3 best animated movie nominations will be:
    The Simpsons Movie
    Ratatoulie
    Shrek the Third

    And the Oscar goes to...

Ineligible for the Animated Film category, since there's only going to be 11 minutes of actual animation (a film needs to be 75% animated in order to be eligible).

BTW, anyone else want to see the "Movie theater rules" song from the ATHF movie get nominated for Best Song.

    Why not this year?

    And the Oscar goes to...

If "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" can get nominated for Best Song and win, ANYTHING is possible.
