I have a question that I am not sure what to do. I think I did the right thing, but I need someone else's help to know if I did for sure. The question is as follows:

0.5241 g of Aluminum is reacted with Sulfur to give 1.4587 g of product. Assuming that all of the Aluminum reacted to give a single compound, what is the empirical formula for the compound?

Can someone please help me? I solved the question by subtracting the weight of the Aluminum from the compound weight; then finding the answer with that info in hand. Can someone please work out this problem and show me how it's done?
