i like talking to people..is this a good thing?

i mean even if there's a gathering and the average person would think "okay, that's someone i don't know", im more like "what the hell, let's see what he's got to say"..and i actually end up having really good conversations with everyone i talk to.
so is this a good thing? or is it taken as being a loudmouth or something? and what kind of professions would suit people like me who like to talk to people all the time?
