I dont know what your stand is in this question, but based on the economy point of view, the value of everything is based on the supply and demand under the capitalism, so if your job is easily replaceable, thus means more supply available, obviously you wont get as much as other job, plus you have to work harder to avoid from being replaced.

For new immigrant chinese people, many people came to the western countries are for the future of their children instead of for themselves, because, at least, for the time being, there are wealth and living standard differences between china and the western countries, plus the advanced education, such as master degree or PhD, the western countries may have more resources than in china, so, coming to the western countries is kind of a take and give deal.

Lastly, I dont agree with you the term Slave laborers, especially the labors also have the right to fire the employers.
