    Really Baddd Computer Issue.?

My computer was working fine two days ago. But yesterday.. out of no where.. it started to mess up real badly. For instance, the computer starts up perfectly. But when I click on a program, it takes forever to load (about 10 minutes). The internet works fine though. But when I try to shutdown the computer.. it takes off everything but the wallpaper and freezes like that. So I have to push the power button and hold it to turn off my computer.

Can someone explain to me what's going on? How can I fix it?

By the way, I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

Do a ctrl-alt-delete and see what's running in the background. If it's something you're not familiar with, chose to end the process. Also check the applications tab and the performance to see your what's taking up your cpu usage
