    leave for army basic training in august at fort benning. i wanted to know how hot it

    gets around august? and also when we do our running if its in the middle of the day when its hot or in the morning and evenings when its cooler. i live in hawaii and ive been running 3 miles almost every day averaging around 6:30 minutes in the middle of the day when its super hot. i basicly just wanted to know if i should prepare myself mentally for hotter running conditions

    They won't ask of you more than you can do.
    I was at Ft Polk in La from may 4th until Sept 10th. And back then there was no A/C.. It really wasn't all that bad.
    Think of the thousands that have done it before you and the thousands that will do it after you.
    And THANKS for serving.. You will do fine.

    it's pretty nasty - hot and humid...but you kinda get used to it.

    If you run, you will do it in the cool of the day...meaning at about 5 AM. If it gets way hot, they will restrict physical activity and allow one to unblouse (trousers not tucked into your boots) and take off your uniform shirt (wearing the t-shirt).

    It's pretty hot... but you sound like you're ready for it.

    You'll be running during different times of the day... but it's not as tough as you think.
