HELP!!! How can i unlock my bicycle rope?

so this is what happened? i rode my bike, locked it with rope when i was done, enter the house and suddenly i forgot where did i put my key? i searched for it everywhere but no luck finding? yesterday i got a combination lock for the bicycle but unfortunately my bike is still lock with rope. I tried to cut it with knife and scissor but it didnt work? can someone please tell me what should i use to cut the rope. i would appreciate it. please and thx

bolt cutters, they are kind of expencive though.

not sure bolt cutters work on cable
they will need to be sharp, if they work at all
i'd just use a hacksaw

You maybe able to rent a pair of bolt cutters at your local hardware store.

But I got the answer- Find the key and unlock it or buy a new bike.

Why would you buy a new lock if you cant even get you bike off your old one? hahahaha WOW!
