In legal court should I be able to regain possession of my fathers firearms?

my father was a convicted felon while is sentence expires in two years. During the search warrant the police took over $500,000 worth of firearms that my two brothers (one deceased) myself and my father were collecting. Since my father is a convicted felon, he can no longer possess these, so my question is, would it be legal and smart for me to try and have them transfered into my name since I no longer live with my parents if they were to sign over on this in court?
haha nah not half of wwII, we were collecting a lot of mint weapons from various wars and countries. such as the m16A1 from vietnam is now priced in the 20,000's in prestine condition.
