speed auto?
The problem which caused me to look into replacing the transmission is that the transmission slips out of gear for no apparent reason. I replaced the ATF and added a cleaner which seems to have solved the problem for now but I would like to know if it would be possible to replace the transmission altogether with one from a 1994 Honda which I was able to buy for cheap and can get installed cheaply. Will their be problems with the electronics like the controller or should it work fairly easily?

Yes, 92 was the first year of that chassis.
