What kind of wire do I use to make a sculpture of a life-sized person?

I need to build a structure of a person who will be wearing clothes (long sleeve tshirt, jeans, shoes, etc.)
    What do I use?

Unless you use a frame work, you will have to carefully cross link the grid of wires to make a wire frame. 12 gauge steel wire will be heavy enough for most purposes. 9 gauge, the next larger commonly available wire, is very stiff and hard to work, but might form an overall structure around which lighter wire might be shaped.
