is it possible to move a court date for a traffic ticket?

I got a speeding violation, and the court date i will be in a different state for a family vacation. Is it possible to change to a later court date?

Send a letter to your City Hall Requesting a Court Date Extension, including your Reason why you want to schedule, your date to resschedule to, and make sure you send it at least 5 Business days before the hearing. They should cut you a break.

Every court is different, but most will allow at least one date change. But your best option is to hire an attorney to represent you. It's quite cheap, and they can usually get the ticket dismissed, or at least keep the points off your driving record- which keeps your insurance rates from increasing about 30%.
