Why would someone think that I mean the world is underpopulated if I say that...

...breeding prevents extinction? Why would someone automatically think that I mean that the world is underpopulated if I say that human breeding prevents them from going extinct? When I have said that the population dies out if no one breeds, people have accused me of implying that there are not enough people in the world. But logically, anything that didn't breed would go extinct, no matter how numerous they are.

Jumping to conclusions is just another annoying human quirk.

I put 2 and 2 together and come up with the number 4. If people didnt breed, then eventually people would die and go away, and the earth would be rid of people. I agree.
