Hi i have a 88 yz250 and it has been running fine but just yesterday it was in gear with the clutch in and it started climbing rpm's started to get really high so i shut it off...started it back up and after a sec of idleing in nutruel it does the same thing? i have no clue any help would be appreciated..but rides fine if i just ride? only when clutch is in or in nutruel?
also forgot to say i just had the throttle cable replaced...maybe my mechanic f@#$$% my bike up.

I know exactly whats wrong man. I had a '96 YZ with this problem. The carb is really gummed up or your idle screw is turned in too far. I would try messing with the idle screw while the bike is running. If that doesn't work, try taking the carb out and cleaning the shit out of it.
