Any poetry wizards out there?
I have to write a one page interpretive essay on one of Emily Dickinson's poems, 249 ("Wild Nights"), answering the question, "How do the formal elements (diction, syntax, etc.) support the content/purpose?"
You can find the poem here.

Any thoughts on it at all would be appreciated.

As for determining the purpose, I'm trying to lean towards interpreting in a non-sexual way (as like a desire to escape the order, structure, and limits of society, and furthermore, the limits of language in poetry (that was something we talked about in class today)), but every analysis I've found online says it's sexual, and if I use my original idea, I don't know if my teacher will think it's good that I chose to go outside the norm, or if she'll think I just completely missed the point of it. She DID make a point of saying to look beyond the literal in her poems, but still, I'm not sure.

She assigned everyone different poems, so I can't collaborate with anyone in my class.
Any help would be great

Hmm, yeah that is a good idea but see, my major is architecture so I think what the professor meant (though Im not sure cause this was our first lesson) was to kind of design like a house, or a cage, design something, its actually a cool idea to design it like his body but ... Im not that good at designing

Okay I got finals coming up on Thursday. Math and English Comp 1.

I need a way to study without doing the overnight thing again. I need affective way for me to stay alert and know the answers.
