    Hi

Can anyone help on how to key in the code into the phone. I inserted a foreign card in to the phone, but nothing happens. Just that there is no network on the phone. When i re-insert in the local card, I get roaming network

    Please help.

My friend, I've been here long enough to know that it's not free.

I'm saying how do you key in the codes you have purchased into the phone.

    Hi .:SUBRATA:.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have Hard reset the phone. Phone belogs to NTT Docomo.

Here's the situation. I insert in the Docomo card and it roams in my country. I can even make calls with it.

When I insert in my local card, it goes to the main menu (Yes, it bypasses the SIM UNLOCK CODE section. My guess it the phone may not be locked) The newwork bar shows Full Bar with an "X" on the left top of the signal bar. It's really strange. Either it should show no service or service. This one shows both

Did a network search and all 4 network operator is shown. But when I insert Card "A" inside, and do a manual search and try to go into the network manually, it does not allow me to....

    It's really strange...

Finally you came to the point.

Orange n NTT Docomo has crypted firmware. not ask for code is common.

In this case you can try downgrading. will ask code.

Downgrading to Other Providers FW (Original HTC) will make Upgrade to other Providers possible. Direct Upgrade wont work in most cases... Think you have to Root the G2 first...

Thanks, .:SUBRATA:. , At least I now know where I'm heading.

Where can I get a downgraded ROM still with Japanese language? I've checked several sites and Asian and European ROMs are easily avaliable.

    Hope you can help.

Upgrading will not work, coz this phone not from Orange

Getting rom with Japanese language is not sure. but if you need to unlock then downgrade to Europe or asian rom. unlock. after unlock you can again upgrade to Japanese rom
