Thread: bike help plz?????

i have a 7 speed and it is old...i dont want to buy a new bike....i just want to spray paint mine and get a new seat and tires...but i want to know if there is any way to change a 7 speed to a regular 1 speed???...if there is how can i chage it...plz thanx

Depending on your frame, you may be able to shorten your chain and run it over only one chainring and cog. You have to pick the one that has the strightest alignment. Which stinks, because it may not be the best gear for a single speed. There may be options. Take it to a bike shop.
