I'm having knee replacement surgery on left knee at the end of May, right knee the end of July. Any suggestions for the best recovery? I realize everyone recovers differently. Any hints, helpful advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

I haven't had knee replacement, but I had a total hip replacement 9 yrs. ago. My advice is to do exactly what the doctor and the physical therapist tell you to do. They will give you exercises or you may go to rehab, but keep moving and do your strengthening exercises--VERY important! Good luck to you!

Thank you.
Hi Sally 123, I'm having knee replacement surgery at the same time. However, I'm doing both knees. After reading many of the postings, I'm feeling apprehensive now. Both knees are miserable and I figure, just get the whole thing over with. What kind of anesthetic are you having? sugarbear
I'm having a spinal and also general. My dr. likes to do the spinal as it has numbing effects longer and helps with pain. I had a choice whether or not to have general along with the spinal. The last thing I wanted to do is hear was "sawing" noises. Good luck to you.
Also, I think many of the postings are negative. I'm sure it is very painful and a long recovery, but everyone is different. In the long run, it has to be better than not being able to walk.
