    Futile attempt for interesting conversation

if a ration came about which meant you could only keep one CD due to a shortage of errr, disk material- what one album would you keep and why.
while we're at it, favourite decade of music?

i'll answer my own post, i'd keep led zeppelin greatest hits and my favourite decade of music is the 90s. or the 60s. cant decide!

    Shortage of disk metal eh?
I'd keep none so more people could have them but I would just listen to the Nirvana, Clash, and Smashing Pumpkins tracks on my computer more often.
Anything but the 80's, most of it was just blah.

yeah I'd keep my mixed CD of songs from ski movies. I couldn't live without it. Just out of curiosity, would be still be allowed to put that one CD into mp3 players?

and for the second part, I'm really not sure what my favorite decade was. There's been awesome songs that I could listen to forever from the 60's and on. There were a few classics that I still love from the 50's (yeah I'm a geek, I know), but i'd still go with the 60's and on.

I'd made a compilation - The Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen, Joy Division, Smiths, Cure, Neil Young, Songs: Ohia, PJ Harvey, Wilco, The Kinks, Sonic Youth, ...Trail of Dead, Jim O'Rourke and Mogwai would all have to be on it.
