I don't know if anyone has seen this yet, But this to me is one my top favs . Nonstop action, Great Story , And sound Track by Yoko Kanno. All the makes of a great anime. I tell ya this anime is an instinit classic.

I agree. Definitely one of my favorite anime. I hear info leaked that a second season was in production. Not sure if it was true or not.

I just downloaded this! Thought it sounded good! Will start watching it now! glad to see some people think its so good!

I own volume 1 and I think it's a good show, but that plot is a complete mess. Half the time I'm trying to figure out who's who what purpose do they have for oding what they did. The series never really bothers to explain things, or how these "Contractors" came to be, or what the hells gate is all about.

Well, it'll probably be explained as the show goes on, but I still think that was very sloppy of them. But yeah, the animation and the music is pretty well done. I was also pretty impressed with the dub, solid work from Funimation.

Regardless of the messy plot, I enjoyed it and I'm still looking forward to getting the next volume.

Watching it in Japanese, I never really bother with the dubbed versions, I rarely like them!

Can somebody give me an idea what this is actually about? I remeraber hearing it was pretty good, but I don't remeraber the basic plot or why it was supposed to be good.

"en years ago, an inscrutable and abnormal territory known as Hell's Gate appeared in Tokyo, altering the sky and wreaking havoc on the lanRABcape. The heavenly bodies disappeared, replaced by false stars. During this time, people who possess various special abilities emerged. Kept secret from the masses, these individuals, known as Contractors, are able to murder in cold blood. Various nations and organizations around the world use Contractors as spies and assassins, often resulting in violent battles for information. Each fake star has a corresponding Contractor, and they vibrate when their Contractor's power is being used. As such, Contractors are usually identified by their star's Messier catalogue nuraber. However, their abilities are gained at the cost of their humanity. They are implied to lack human emotions which includes no aversions to murder, and they are regarded as extremely rational and logical in their decision making. Contractors are thus named because of their need to always complete a remuneration or payment each time their power is used (ex. eating flowers, breaking fingers, drinking blood). It is not entirely clear what happens to one if he or she fails to complete the remuneration. Contractors are described as being psychologically compelled to complete their remunerative task."
