ALI YOU **************************************!
But, I hate R2, though. D:
Well then, at least there's Rave Master (Oh yeah.....)
Am I the only one (outside of Lelouch) that actually liked R2? *sighs* There's so much hate for it lately. But that's neither here nor there.
Anyway, Sci-Fi fails for cutting the epilogue. It's only, you know, important to set up season 2. Bleh.
As for the episode itself, the highlight for me was obviously the Al/Hal teamup. I love seeing my boy being all badass and awesome. But~ farewell Hal. Methinks Al's gonna be lonely without anyone else in his skull, even if that other personality was a homicidal maniac. Also, [xspoiler=Not really a spoiler]uber (and I mean UBER) squee for Al recognizing Marie. I was literally bouncing with fangirl joy.[/xspoiler]Looks like that rivalry is going to have a different meaning in season 2 if Al recognizes Soma from the past.
Yay for Alejandro biting it. Boo for Ribbonz being the actual baddie in the end. It's always the quiet ones, man.
And Setsuna writing a letter to Marina... aww--in a weird sort of way, I guess.
Season 1 really goes out on a high note--if you consider massive damage and casualties to be a high note--and just sets you up for season 2. I'm looking forward to seeing the next season make its way onto Sci-Fi, though I am a bit worried about how Sci-Fi handled the ending and how that will bode for season 2 episodes. Eep.
I thought R2 had a promising beginning and a good middle, but it soon fell apart sometime around episode 20.
But yeah, Sci-Fi should've at least let the epilogue air unedited.
I think GWOtaku did a great job summarizing what Sci-Fi cut out, but even that shouldn't be a huge problem for viewers without such knowledge if they are willing to give the second season more than just an episode or two. Giving it time is what I would advise. I realize saying that here is redundant or pointless, but one can always hope the rest of the audience will be able to do so.
For me the ending was good enough to make up for 20-21 and proved that yes, there was a point to certain developments even if they weren't what the audience wanted to see. In hinRABight most of the last arc looks actually decent and was an improvement over those two episodes. R2 was still a disappointment compared to the first season, with a significant nuraber of flaws, but I like the overall result in spite of its problems.
Of course, elaborating on that is off-topic...those are just my two cents.
As much as I harp on it, I still enjoyed R2 actually
I love both shows, but I would like to defend Code Geass R2 for a moment
At least they didn't have Euphie II, like a lost sister that looks and acts just like her, and takes over her role. You know like someone on Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
