sugar is usually used to take the acidic bite out of tomatoes and not a lot is used at all.
As the other gal suggested, make your own and skip the sugar.
Salsa contains very little sugar. The brand I normally use contains 1 gram per serving, which is a negligible amount, even for a diabetic.

Jackie, there isn't a lot of sugar added, it's only a pinch, mixed in with the diced tomatoes. If your making a salsa, just delete the sugar, half the time I don't add it.
