I recently bought an indoor palm from Home Depot. We brought it home and bought it a new pot. My boyfriend re-potted it but didn't give it a good soak when he put it in the new pot. Now the leaves are turning dark brown with yellow spots. I have been checking the soil every couple of days and it's always bone dry. When I check the soil and it's dry I give it a glass of water. Is it possible that it's dying from the trauma of being re-planted and not having enough water immediately after? What can I do to keep the rest of it from dying? Should I cut off the brown stuff? Some of the branches are completely brown, should I cut off the whole thing?

Thanks for the tips, I'm lost here!
Thanks for the tips. I watered it enough that there is now water in the tray below. Should I leave that water in the tray or try to drain it out somehow? Also, when should I water it next? Should I keep checking it every other day or so or should I wait a week to water it?
