Donating to charities on Facebook will now be as easy as "liking" their posts and pages.
The 1-billion member social network on Monday introduced Donate, a new feature that will appear on charities' pages and besides their posts, giving users a quick way to donate.
The feature currently only works with a few select charities, including the Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and Water.org. But more charities can sign up to have the Donate feature added to their Facebook pages by filling out an application on the company's website.

The feature appears as a "Donate Now" button when users see posts from participating charities on their News Feed. It can also be seen at the top of participating charities' Facebook pages. The social network suggests users donate $10, $25, $100 or $250.
Facebook said it decided to roll out the feature after teaming up with the Red Cross last month to let users donate to the organization's Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts.
"After seeing the generosity of people around the world toward this effort, we’ve been inspired to help everyone donate, at any time, to the organizations they care about most," the company said in a blog post.
Facebook said 100% of the money users donate will go to the organizations.
