Thread: 04 Kawasaki zx 10r oil?

I've got an 04 zx 10, how often should i change the oil, and where is the bolt to let the old oil out, where's the filter too?! I'm assuming i'll have to take some plastics off, but i figured i might as well see if anyone on here knows before i break somethin. What's the best kind of oil i could use also? living in utah

The oil drain bolt is on the bottom of the crankcase (17mm wrench).
Remove the fairing lower to drain the oil without making a mess (the added work of removing the lower is worth the trouble).
The spin-on oil filter is on the front of the engine behind the exhaust pipes.
Remove the left side fairing.
Make a "ramp" out of cardboard, place it under the oil filter before removing the filter, to guide the oil to the left when removing the filter.
Otherwise the oil will spill on the pipes and make a mess.
Use any quality, brand name, 4 stroke, motor oil.
Kawasaki recommends SAE 10W40 API SE, SF or SG
