I have two sets of data: a set of rank-ordered scores from 1-9 and a condition of whether or not an event happened (there is no control group ie a quasi experiment) . The event happened three times and didn't happen six times. The three highest scores corresponded to the three events in order of severity (ex. 9=most severe event occurrence, 8=2nd most severe, etc.). What statistical test should I use to show a significant relationship? I was thinking like pearson Chi square or Spearman correlation.
