    Will the Department of Justice's decision to defend DOMA have any impact on the

    court's decision? You'd think the courts will judge the case by its content, not by who's arguing it, right?



    I mean........Obama's Deparment of Justice used very offensive and pathedic arguemnts in their brief: comparing homosexuality to incest and crap like that..........such arguments would never be taken seriously by a court of law, would you agree?

    No...the DoJ's job is to defend the Government's policies in such instances, so the fact they are defending it means they are only doing their job.
    Yes, such arguments would be taken seriously by a court of law; they would have to be if presented to it. Just because you find something pathetic does not mean the position invalid nor wrong.
