I have a '95 Pontiac Grand Am SE that currently has a 2.3L DOHC Quad 4 in it. It overheats like an SOB and my dad (mechanic of over 30 years) and I have tried everything but rippin the dang thing out.

One of my dad's friends has a wrecked '02 cavalier and he doesn't want the engine. Engine runs fine, etc. etc. Dad can have all the necessary hoses, wires, etc. that he needs.

Since the '02 is OBD II and my current engine is not, how difficult will it be to drop the '02 in my '95? (Dad has lots of electrical wiring experience, he's also ASE certified).

My dad also brought up the cam sensor positioning. Could that potentially cause problems?

What about mounts? Will the '02 mount the same as the '95?

Thanks!
*Ripping it out as in to replace the head gasket.
