Aspiring Author Advice?

Hi, I am trying to write a story, and get it published. I have thousand of ideas, and would love a job in the publishing world. As either an editor or an Author. I just don't know the right way to go with it. So I was hoping that someone can help me out, by telling how I can join the ranks in the publishing world.

Try editor.
That's how my friend started. He turned to editing first, and since after a couple of years of having connections, he got his book published.

Yeah i agree with the other answer. Start out as an editor, and move up to an author once you have your connections. If you start out as an author without any connections your book may not sell as well.
