Okay, so I'm 18 years old.. I have a debit card, but no credit card. I just opened a student checking account. Right now I'm on a family plan with my parents, but I want to switch to an individual plan. I've heard that I need credit in order to do this and If I don't have any, they are gonna charge me a security deposit. Is this true? If so, about how much will I have to pay?
