    What Does the story of Grendel origins suggest about the beliefs of Anglo Saxon

    culture ? from Beowulf

    Well you might notice that Grendel lacks a father, in a culture that spends quite a bit of time detailing ones ancestors in its epics (some would say the reason we have the epics) this is rather revealing.
