How can I get a 1 inch piece of broken key out of an ignition on a 1990 Toyota Corolla?

How can I get this 1" piece of key out of the ignition without having to take the dash apart and ignition ? Oddly the car still starts with the Broken key but no other keys will start the car. Thanks

bend a paper clip to a hook, extend it out long and try to wiggle it in to slide the piece out.

With the ignition off (key removal position) use a dental pick to try and ease the key out. You can these picks and most small hardware stores.

Also if you can clearly see the end of the key and its not too deep you and take the a wooden q-tip stick and try super gluing it to the end of the key. Just a little bit at the end of the stick, you don't want any in the lock. Press the stick onto the end of the key and allow to dry completely.
