It started a few days ago, and it just makes a loud thumping sound when I put in a CD, and if I leave it in it eventually says ERR1. I have a 2003 Nissan Altima, and it has original radio/cd player.
Radio still works fine.
What could be the problem?
I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
I checked the car manual, and it said nothing about what ERR1 could be. I'm clueless.

Your car's glove box manual should have a section on the radio in it. It might tell you what err 1 means.
