Why did Chevrolet stop making the Caprice along with Buick stopping production on the Roadmaster? I thought they were well built vehicles and they deserve to be made again today.

The wagon versions were stoped beacuse the mini van came into play and the sation wagon died and the lumina and impla kinda of replaced it
They didn't make enough money from sales in the US. The caprice is still being made today, but only in the overseas area.
When they decided to get rid of all the rear wheel drive barges and go to all FWD, they decided to drop the Caprice name.
Going to FWD was a MAJOR mistake in MY opinion. A lot of us old timers quit buying their products. Well, I DID try one FWD Chevy, a Citation. I was not impressed and sold it after a couple years.
OH, GM still makes a roadmaster, but it's a much smaller FWD version.
