I can't remember the first time this happened to me, but it has happened for years now. Most mornings I wake up with pain, sort of stabbing pain, on my left side in the rib area and under there. I've never had any problems with my ribs. If I try to take a deep breath while the pain is there, I can never complete the breath because it's too painful. The only thing that makes it go away is getting up and walking around for a minute. However, if I go back to lay down, sometimes it comes right back. Sometimes the pain stays there throughout the day, I notice it more at some times than others. I'm really perplexed as to what this might be, I've tried looking everywhere, but still don't have an answer. I did try to explain these symptoms to the doctor one time, but back then it wasn't as frequent as it has become over the last year or so.
