so here's the issue. i hear a little of mixed answers about turbines and their abilities. lets assume that wind speed is fixed at 25 miles an hour, and the turbine is giving 100% of it's ability.

i hear that the average american house uses anywhere from 800 to 900 kilowatt hours a month. how big of a turbine, in kilowatts, would i need to power 100 homes?

I've gotten mixed reports from everywhere, even on yahoo about energy usage in the average american home. from 2 Kilowatt-hours to 1,000! i don't know what to believe. So please, if you would be so kind, how many houses can be powered for how long (days, etc.) on a 20 kilowatt wind turbine, at 100% power for 24 hours a day? and what is the daily usage of electricity in the average American home, in kilowatt hours?

thank you.
so a kw is not the ame thing as kW? any info on average home usage?
