Distance (x):
x/48 + x/16 = 4
x + 3x = 192
4x = 192
x = 48

Answer: 48 kilometers

Proof (entire trip is 4 hours):
= (48 km/48 kph) + (48 km/16 kph)
= 1 hour + 3 hours
= 4 hours

An hour ride by car and 3 hour-ride by bicycle makes it 4-hour ride to and fro.
