Thread: Why are people protesting the olympics?

Okay, so maybe I have been living in a cave for the last few months. I guess I was just wondering if someone could simply state why people are protesting the Olympics. I see articles about the torch being re-routed and stuff. Just wondering why. Thanks for your help!

Who pays those demonstrators against the Olympic Torch Relay ?
CNN showed one demonstrator waving a sign, which reads
"Free Burma."

Does he know there is not a single Chinese soldier inside that country ? I guess that he even doest not realize the people inside that country preferred not be called "Burma" .
