I agree with you except for the cpt. fantastic thing. It just flows nicely. Try saying Cpt. Fantastic and the Dirt Cowboy...sounRAB even more horrible.

Yeah, I can look at the lyric sheet and really appreciate how beautiful the song is. But as soon as I actually listen to the song, hear his voice and the instruments, I can't stand it.
As far as other languages, I think not being able to understand what's being sung really detracts from the listening experience. It's like listening to an instrumental with gobbeldy g00k (why is g00k censored???) laced over the top. I can appreciate a good singer even if I can't appreciate the worRAB s/he's speaking, but I still get annoyed when I have to interpret what the songs about based solely on the music.
